Nutrition - what we must do
All patients should be screened on admission (within 24 hrs)
and weekly thereafter - High risk patients must be referred to
Dietician
 
Protect mealtimes - the Registered Nurse responsible must
ensure their patients receive the food, care and assistance
they require
 
Food & fluid charts - accuracy is important to be of value
when assessing nutritional intake
 
Remember that Enteral / Parenteral policies provide
guidance on access to support out of hours
