A fire alarm system comprises of automatic smoke or heat detectors
and manual fire alarm call-points. The smoke or heat detectors are our
"electronic noses", so that if we don't detect a fire these detectors will
do it for us. Heat detectors react more slowly from a fire, they depend
upon the increase change of heat and therefore should always be sited
within kitchens.
