Portal of entry to host: open
wounds, lines, mouth (C. diff)
Susceptible host: patients,
especially the most vulnerable
ones - open wounds, antibiotics
harmed normal protective flora,
lines, immunosuppressed etc
Multiplies in the patient and the
chain goes on
