  • When the supply of a patient's medication is getting low, reorder it, don't let it

  • If you transfer a patient to another ward make sure all their medication is
  • transferred with them, ensuring you check the fridge and the controlled drugs
  • cupboard if the patient has any items in these.

  • If the medication is not on the ward do not simply put the 'no supply available
  • code' on the drug chart. If a medication is on the critical list, follow it up, order
  • a supply or borrow from another ward. The critical list is available on the
  • Barts Health intranet.

  • Pharmacy stock deliveries should be put away in a timely manner so stock
  • can be located easily.
