  • tubes can have this appearance when
  • they are in a hiatus hernia - particularly if it
  • is incarcerated. This is uncommon
  •  
  • The tube is in a hiatus hernia. The
  • deviation is quite low, near the diaphragm.
  • However, any deviation in the chest -
  • particularly if extreme like this - should
  • raise the question:
  •  
  • Could this tube be in the lung?
  •  
     
  • Be very wary of attributing any deviation in
  • the thorax to a hiatus hernia and get a
  • senior opinion.

  • "If in doubt, take it out" is the bottom
  • line
