Catering Processes
  • Catering processes will vary slightly from site to site across the
  • Trust

  • It is important that you are aware of the system used on your site
  • and within your own ward area.
  • In particular you need to be familiar with the patient menus
  • including :
  • The dietary coding used which enables patients to make the appropriate choice for their
  • condition and enables you to help them do this if required
  • Menu choices for Cultural/Religious reasons eg. Halal, Kosher, Afro-Caribbean, Puree
  • diet

  • Snacks between meals. Make sure you know what additional food
  • is available for patients between meals on your ward.

  • Ensure you are aware of what food is available for those who
  • have missed meals and how to obtain it.
