While admitting a patient from a care home you are confronted with
the strong smell of urine and signs of neglect.
Is this acceptable?
This is not acceptable for any person in receipt of care either in their own
home, care home or nursing home.
What immediate steps should you take?
Body map, If pressure ulcers, bruises or marks found get Medical
Photography. Document, Datix AND Alert form for Safeguarding
Is this a Safeguarding matter?
This will be a safeguarding matter: multi agency collaboration is required with
Social Services and the Local Authority to investigate
