While visiting the ward you observe a colleague delivering care
with no communication with the patient and what you consider to
be rough handling.
Is this acceptable?
No all staff must communicate their intentions when handling or
treating patients - rough handling is totally unacceptable
What immediate steps should you take?
Intervene to stop the procedure to ensure patient safety and
dignity in care is restored
Is this a Safeguarding matter?
Yes - this should be discussed with line manager and
safegaurding team and a datix completed
