Aims to give practicing or potential team leaders the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification does this by developing basic team leading skills and assisting participants in gaining the basic knowledge required at this level.

Aspiring Clinical Leaders Aims:

Support and facilitate the leadership development of nursing, midwifery and AHP healthcare practitioners enabling them to lead themselves and others to competently, safely and compassionately deliver high-quality care.

Furthermore, the programme will have dedicated time allocated to shadowing activity and the subsequent debrif of that activity. Shadowing has been a highly rated activity by the learners as an excellent opportunity to observe leadership behaviours and attitudes in practice. Learners reported feeling inspired by this activity and having a better understanding of organisational leadership processes and a deeper appreciation of their own leadership traits.

Access to coaching via Barts Health coaching network and NHS leadership academy will also be available to all learners as well as access to peer mentoring where learners can have the support of students that have completed this programme in previous years.

Units:

•Understanding Good Practice in Coaching within an Organisational Context.
•Undertaking an Extended Period of Coaching within an Organisational Context
•Reflecting on Coaching Skills within an Organisational Context

This ILM level 3 programme provides participants with the basic knowledge to become an effective manager. Topics include performance management, how to motivate and how to establish your team.
Learning content is delivered through three interactive workshops. You can find session resources and submit your assignments here on Moodle.

In 2014, Barts Health NHS Trust became an approved centre for the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

We now deliver a number of leadership and management qualifications. This 'study skills' digital learning will cover a range of topics, organised into ‘lessons’, to support your study and progress through your chosen ILM qualification.

The content is a mix of e-learning, animation, printed content, reflective practice - and sign-posting to further information. It explains the ILM assessment requirements and includes reading, researching, writing and referencing within your assignments.

The learning can be returned to time and again, dependent on your need.
